Final Assignment
As a UHD student in
1301, my expectations at the beginning of the semester were to learn about media
literacy and digital citizenship, what that meant, and how learning about and
being involved with media would help us throughout our lives. My expectations
were met at a very high standard, because the class went from being a class
that looked boring to actually being fun. At the beginning of the semester, we
were just a class, and then we went to another class that was filled with
computers, which helped the course because it was call media literacy and
digital citizenship for a reason. I would say that my expectations were not met
because even though it was a class with computers, when the instructor was
teaching or students were presenting, they sometimes would have videos to show
and sometimes the volume wouldn’t work. The video’s not having sound was a huge
downer, because I felt that if you had a video that you looked into, it should
have been watched, and would have given the students a better visual and a
better understanding of the topic.
The features I
would like to see added to the course would be more group interactions but
which different students so we can learn more about each other and have a
chance to see the way other people think. Some of the features that I would
like to see removed would be sometimes take a break from the computer class,
and really just have the students listen and be engaged, instead of being on
the computers. The most positive aspect of the course was meeting and making
new friends. Learning about media was fun and exciting because I got to learn
about things I didn’t know before. The most negative aspect was not being
able to see the PowerPoints from the bottom, because the wording was hard to
see when you had computers and people sitting in front of you. Overall, I
thought this was a good and exciting course and it was my favorite class to be
in this semester.
